Writer Darko Macan, with the help of Zezelj's strange modernist artwork, puts Captain America between a rock and a hard place as the star-spangled hero is dropped into a South American jungle to aid a squad of American soldiers in their endeavor to liberate a group of Columbian children. Though, revered by these men, Cap finds himself at moral odds with the reprobate soldiers, making him call into question his own soldier/hero mentality. With the mission and children's lives at stake, Cap and his wayward squad trudge forward into a treacherous exploit of a soldier's ethics. As one of the first stories to truly probe the depths of Captain America's psyche, this gritty tale shows the legendary hero in a brand new light and throws to the wind all presuppositions about the lengths he's willing to go to do the right thing.
